About the Usb floppy adapter PCB
Usb floppy adapter is an open source STM32 PCB design by roybaer, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 48 × 19 mm, with 26 components from 16 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LM1117-3.3 and USBLC6-2SC6. By type, the board carries 7 connectors, 7 capacitors, 7 resistors, 3 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 inductor.
It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.
From the project
STM32-based USB to Floppy-Disk Drive (FDD) Adapter
This project provides the CAD files for an STM32-based floppy-disk controller that can be attached to the back of an ordinary 3.5 inch floppy-disk drive and connected to a USB host via micro USB port.
The core of this adapter is the popular STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller by STMicroelectronics. Please consult the PDF schematic for details.
The adapter can be used in several different hardware configurations that can be selected via solder bridges.

Usb floppy adapter: common questions
What microcontroller does the Usb floppy adapter use?
The Usb floppy adapter is built around the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Usb floppy adapter PCB?
The Usb floppy adapter measures 48 × 19 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.2 mm thick.
How many components are on the Usb floppy adapter?
26 components, from 16 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Usb floppy adapter design files?
From the roybaer/usb_floppy_adapter repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Usb floppy adapter design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with roybaer. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Usb floppy adapter without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
