About the Audio hackpad repo PCB

Audio hackpad repo is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by sahasrasoc-bit, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 43 × 81.7 mm, with 7 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 6 switches and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards and audio designs in this gallery.

Inspiration -- One of the biggest problems I always face when audio editing is having the shortcuts and keys that I used far part. This meant that even for repeatative actions, I had to many times take my hand off the mouse and click delete, or move my hand across the whole keyboard. This slowed down my editing process extrmely, and since the keys are so far apart, I often click the wrong buttons (destroying whatever file/rpoject I was wroking on). This hackpad is designed to solve that problem, as I specifically designed it for…

Audio hackpad repo: common questions

What microcontroller does the Audio hackpad repo use?

The Audio hackpad repo is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Audio hackpad repo PCB?

The Audio hackpad repo measures 43 × 81.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Audio hackpad repo?

7 components, from 3 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Audio hackpad repo design files?

From the sahasrasoc-bit/Audio_hackpad_repo repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Audio hackpad repo design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with sahasrasoc-bit. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Audio hackpad repo without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
