About the SBK RP1 PCB

SBK RP1 is an open source PCB design by sbarabe, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 8.2 × 9.9 mm, with 5 components from 5 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 2 resistors, 1 transistor, 1 connector and 1 diode.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Open-source reverse polarity protection module for learning and embedded electronics projects.

SBK_RP1 is a compact, reusable hardware module that protects low-voltage DC electronic circuits against accidental reverse battery connections. Using a P-channel MOSFET ideal-diode topology, it provides reverse polarity protection with a much lower voltage drop than a conventional series diode. An integrated LED indicates when protected output power is available.

SBK RP1: common questions

How big is the SBK RP1 PCB?

The SBK RP1 measures 8.2 × 9.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the SBK RP1?

5 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SBK RP1 design files?

From the sbarabe/SBK_RP1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SBK RP1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which sbarabe chose for the repository.
