About the Air-Speed-Measurement-Board

Air-Speed-Measurement-Board is an open source STM32 PCB design by Shadaab1904, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 50.1 × 57.7 mm, with 38 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F030F4PX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the HT75XX-1-SOT89 and SDP810-500PA. By type, the board carries 10 diodes, 10 capacitors, 10 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 connectors and 2 inductors.

It belongs with the sensors, test & measurement and robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Air speed measurement using differential pressure sensor (SDP810-500PA)

- Sensor: Sensirion SDP810-500PA (differential pressure sensor) - Microcontroller: STM32F030F4Px (ARM Cortex-M0) - Power: 5V input with onboard 3.3V regulation - Interfaces: - I²C (sensor side) - SPI (to master controller) - Read Interrupt Pin (signals new data ready) - SWD (for programming/debugging)

This board acts as an airspeed signal processing unit. It reads differential pressure caused by the difference between total and static air pressure (using a pitot tube setup), computes the dynamic pressure, and derives the airspeed using Bernoulli’s principle.

Air-Speed-Measurement-Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Air-Speed-Measurement-Board use?

The Air-Speed-Measurement-Board is built around the STM32F030F4PX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Air-Speed-Measurement-Board?

The Air-Speed-Measurement-Board measures 50.1 × 57.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Air-Speed-Measurement-Board?

38 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Air-Speed-Measurement-Board design files?

From the Shadaab1904/Air-Speed-Measurement-Board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Air-Speed-Measurement-Board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Shadaab1904 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Air-Speed-Measurement-Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
