About the Attendance-Monitoring-System PCB
Attendance-Monitoring-System is an open source ESP32 PCB design by sohamkarkhanis, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 91 × 114 mm, with 20 components from 4 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32_30_Pin, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 16 switches and 3 connectors.
From the project
This repository contains the code and designs for a simple attendance monitoring system that I designed as a project!
This repository contains the code and documentation for an Attendance Monitoring System based on the ESP32 with a DS3231 RTC and the Hitachi HD44780, 16x2 character LCD with a PCF8574 I2C backpack. The system allows users to record attendance using a 4x4 matrix keypad through which Roll Numbers are entered and registered.
This project is designed to automate the process of attendance taking, saving time and reducing errors. With a focus on simplicity and cost-efficiency, it offers a dependable solution for monitoring the attendance in small institutions where advanced methods such as RFID…

Attendance-Monitoring-System: common questions
What microcontroller does the Attendance-Monitoring-System use?
The Attendance-Monitoring-System is built around the ESP32_30_Pin, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Attendance-Monitoring-System PCB?
The Attendance-Monitoring-System measures 91 × 114 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Attendance-Monitoring-System?
20 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Attendance-Monitoring-System design files?
From the sohamkarkhanis/Attendance-Monitoring-System repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Attendance-Monitoring-System design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with sohamkarkhanis. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Attendance-Monitoring-System without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
