About the Safety edge interface PCB
Safety edge interface is an open source PCB design by ste-man, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 93 × 78 mm, with 67 components from 26 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the LM393, 74AHC1G08, SFH6156 and TBA1-2411E. By type, the board carries 35 resistors, 9 diodes, 7 ICs, 7 capacitors, 4 transistors and 3 connectors.
From the project
Dual channel 24VDC interface for 8.2kΩ safety edge, with potential free relays and PNP output
The local Makerspace in my region needed safety edge interfaces for an automatic bi-folding gate. There are lots of sufficient safety edge interface/controllers available to purchase, but they tend to be a bit expensive (for a valid reason) and I decided to make my own.

Safety edge interface: common questions
How big is the Safety edge interface PCB?
The Safety edge interface measures 93 × 78 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Safety edge interface?
67 components, from 26 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Safety edge interface design files?
From the ste-man/safety-edge-interface repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Safety edge interface design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ste-man. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
