Its main chip is the C529347, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the SN65HVD75DGKR, C113367 and C39159. By type, the board carries 23 resistors, 20 capacitors, 6 connectors, 5 ICs and 4 transistors.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Head-fixed floating platform for studying sensory-guided spatial orienting in mice — hardware, firmware and control software.

Standalone STM32G071-based reward port controller for a behavioural rig. Each reward port provides:

- Differential RS-485 communication with the hub - Differential SYNC input with hardware timestamp capture - Omron EE-SX1140 light-gate capture - RGB visual cue output - Band-limited noise playback - Lee LHDB0342115H solenoid valve control - Local event buffering and clock translation

Reward port: common questions

What microcontroller does the Reward port use?

The Reward port is built around the C529347, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Reward port PCB?

The Reward port measures 30 × 40 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.7 mm thick.

How many components are on the Reward port?

58 components, from 25 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Reward port design files?

From the stef1029/trilab-floating-platform repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Reward port design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with stef1029. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Reward port without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
