About the Voltage amplifier PCB

Voltage amplifier is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Sussex-Neuroscience, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 111.5 × 85.1 mm, with 19 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_Due_Shield, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the LM741. By type, the board carries 10 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 transistors, 2 connectors and 2 battery holders.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

A voltage amplifier board compatible with Arduino Due

Hi! This repository contains all the necessary documents to replicate an arduino Due compatible voltage amplifier.

This system was developed as part of a research project of the Ward Lab. It is to be used with a stimulus isolation adaptor from BIOPAC, more specifically one of the models that provide isolated voltage: https://www.biopac.com/product/stimulus-isolation-adapters/

Voltage amplifier: common questions

What microcontroller does the Voltage amplifier use?

The Voltage amplifier is built around the Arduino_Due_Shield, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Voltage amplifier PCB?

The Voltage amplifier measures 111.5 × 85.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Voltage amplifier?

19 components, from 9 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Voltage amplifier design files?

From the Sussex-Neuroscience/voltage-amplifier repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Voltage amplifier design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which Sussex-Neuroscience chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Voltage amplifier without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
