About the Mmdvm hs hat

Mmdvm hs hat is an open source STM32 PCB design by taozhengbo, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 59.2 × 47.8 mm, with 106 components from 42 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the ADF7021. By type, the board carries 51 capacitors, 24 resistors, 12 inductors, 8 diodes, 4 connectors and 3 ICs.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

duplex ver of mmdvm

This project provides a Raspberry Pi Hat for the MMDVM_HS Hotspot. It was designed for the Raspberry Pi any Version, but should work on any other Pi with the Hat interface.

First revisions of the board have been built successfully!

The PCB is designed in KiCad and the necessary libraries are included. The supplied Gerber files can be used to order PCBs, for example at Elecrow or DirtyPCBs.

Mmdvm hs hat: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mmdvm hs hat use?

The Mmdvm hs hat is built around the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Mmdvm hs hat?

The Mmdvm hs hat measures 59.2 × 47.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.2 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mmdvm hs hat?

106 components, from 42 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mmdvm hs hat design files?

From the taozhengbo/mmdvm_hs_duplex repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mmdvm hs hat design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with taozhengbo. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Mmdvm hs hat without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
