About the MA735 encoder board

MA735 encoder board is an open source PCB design by techy-robot, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 5.7 × 80.4 mm, with 3 components from 3 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MA735GGU-Z. By type, the board carries 2 capacitors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Tiny drone motors with a high reduction gearbox, a precise mangetic encoder, and a FOC controller

I'm currently thinking about having a cycloidal or split-ring planetary gearbox, due to the compact size and high reduction ratios

Preliminary CAD designs are on onshape, you can watch my progress here: Mighty Micro Motors - Onshape. Step files and STL files will also be uploaded to this repo.

Currently the design is twice as big as my ideal, with a 19mm diameter. I can not reduce the diameter without removing the bearings, possible reducing the lifespan. This really needs to be smaller, so I may do some testing and just remove some bearings. I'm not actually sure how well the 1x3x1mm…
