From the project

Utilize Hall Effect sensors in an open-source leverless

Use an ATMEGA microcontroller to read the analog out from the hall effect sensor located on the opposite side of the PCB from the switch. Then, the ATMEGA will act as the switch and output high or low to a Brooks board for each button press.

There are board versions for a RP2040, Brooks P5 Mini and Brooks Gen-5X Mini. I have tested the RP2040 and P5 Mini versions and they both work on PC. ## Setup The board is relatively simple to set up - the most difficult part was soldering the USB-C for the ATMEGA32u4. I have no reflow oven so I used my conventional oven with solder paste, which works…

MainBoard BrooksP5Mini: common questions

What microcontroller does the MainBoard BrooksP5Mini use?

The MainBoard BrooksP5Mini is built around the ATmega32U4-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the MainBoard BrooksP5Mini PCB?

The MainBoard BrooksP5Mini measures 259.5 × 133 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MainBoard BrooksP5Mini?

105 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MainBoard BrooksP5Mini design files?

From the tristanmelton/FaradayFightstick repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MainBoard BrooksP5Mini design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which tristanmelton chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the MainBoard BrooksP5Mini without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
