About the Cdm324 v2 PCB

Cdm324 v2 is an open source STM32 PCB design by Valar-Systems, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 32 × 32.5 mm, with 37 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F301K8U6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LMP7731MF/NOPB, MAX9814ETD+T, NCP163ASN330T1G and PCA8561AHN/AY. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 10 resistors, 6 ICs, 3 connectors and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

Hardware version R1.1 has a problem with the ESP32 USB circuit.

When the ESP32 enters sleep mode, the USB becomes disconnected and the Serial Console will not function after it wakes up. Arduino will need to be restarted before you can flash the firmware again.

Cdm324 v2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Cdm324 v2 use?

The Cdm324 v2 is built around the STM32F301K8U6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Cdm324 v2 PCB?

The Cdm324 v2 measures 32 × 32.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Cdm324 v2?

37 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Cdm324 v2 design files?

From the Valar-Systems/MiniSpeedCam repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Cdm324 v2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which Valar-Systems chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Cdm324 v2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
