From the project

Driverino-Shield is an Arduino based simple, low power controller for PM BLDC sensored motors.

Driverino-Shield is a simple, low power, controller for BLDC sensored motors. The aim of the project was to create an Arduino shield to drive PM BLDC motor(s) rated about 50-100W. The board is designed around TI MCT8316Z BLDC chip: a very compact full featured driver that can be easily controlled from Arduino microcontroller.

Driverino-Shield: common questions

What microcontroller does the Driverino-Shield use?

The Driverino-Shield is built around the Arduino_1pin, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Driverino-Shield?

The Driverino-Shield measures 68.6 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Driverino-Shield?

56 components, from 33 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Driverino-Shield design files?

From the weirdgyn/Driverino-Shield repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Driverino-Shield design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which weirdgyn chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Driverino-Shield without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
