About the Jbc nano solder PCB

Jbc nano solder is an open source STM32 PCB design by Winkelkatze, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 48 × 49 mm, with 45 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F030F4Px, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AP1117-33, AD8615, UCC2751 and AT24CS01-STUM. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 9 resistors, 5 ICs, 5 connectors, 3 switches and 2 diodes.

DIY station for JBC nano (NT115) soldering irons

This project can be found on Hackaday: https://hackaday.io/project/175580-diy-jbc-nano-controller

JBC makes awesome high-end soldering irons for professional use. The stations are quite expensive (especially the Nano system), however the tips and hand pieces are reasonably priced for hobby users. Therefore building controllers for these became kind of a sport among DIYers.

Jbc nano solder: common questions

What microcontroller does the Jbc nano solder use?

The Jbc nano solder is built around the STM32F030F4Px, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Jbc nano solder PCB?

The Jbc nano solder measures 48 × 49 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Jbc nano solder?

45 components, from 29 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Jbc nano solder design files?

From the Winkelkatze/jbc_nano_solder repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Jbc nano solder design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Winkelkatze chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Jbc nano solder without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
