About the Mario Kart Controller PCB
Mario Kart Controller is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Wyphorn, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 74 × 40 mm, with 52 components from 27 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-C6-SUPERMINI, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MCP1826T-3302E/DC. By type, the board carries 20 resistors, 15 capacitors, 9 connectors, 3 transistors, 2 ICs and 2 diodes.
From the project
Mario-Kart-inspiriertes RC-Rennsystem: umgebaute Carrera-Autos, ESP32-C6, ESP-NOW, eigene Fernbedienung – Fan-Projekt, entstanden mit KI (Claude)

Mario Kart Controller: common questions
What microcontroller does the Mario Kart Controller use?
The Mario Kart Controller is built around the ESP32-C6-SUPERMINI, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Mario Kart Controller PCB?
The Mario Kart Controller measures 74 × 40 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Mario Kart Controller?
52 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Mario Kart Controller design files?
From the Wyphorn/MarioKartRC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Mario Kart Controller design in my own project?
It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
Can I test firmware for the Mario Kart Controller without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
