About the LED-Keychain PCB

LED-Keychain is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by yansha2903-bot, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 138.9 × 99.4 mm, with 15 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATTINY412-SS, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 8 diodes, 2 switches, 2 capacitors, 1 IC, 1 battery holder and 1 resistor.

From the project

This is my first PCB project, so the main goal wasn't to create something revolutionary. I wanted to learn the complete hardware design process: creating a schematic, assigning footprints, routing a PCB, generating Gerber files, and writing firmware for a microcontroller.

LED-Keychain: common questions

What microcontroller does the LED-Keychain use?

The LED-Keychain is built around the ATTINY412-SS, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the LED-Keychain PCB?

The LED-Keychain measures 138.9 × 99.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the LED-Keychain?

15 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the LED-Keychain design files?

From the yansha2903-bot/LED-Keychain repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the LED-Keychain design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with yansha2903-bot. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the LED-Keychain without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
