About the Mgc m4809 PCB

Mgc m4809 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by 0x007E, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 33 × 48.9 mm, with 39 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega4809-A, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the DG418LDY. By type, the board carries 14 resistors, 13 capacitors, 5 connectors, 3 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 switch.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

MeGARCard - ATMega4809 Module

The ATmega4809 (mgcmodule) is an adaptable board for the MeGARCard. The board offers the possibility to control the MeGARCard with an ATmega4809. The board itself is connected to the MeGARCard within the pcb-to-pcb connectors (no soldering necessary). With the onboard dip-switches the board voltage can be regulated from 3V3 to 5V. Also the usage of hardware-/software-twi` to control the SSD1306-display on the megacard can be selected.

Mgc m4809: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mgc m4809 use?

The Mgc m4809 is built around the ATmega4809-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Mgc m4809 PCB?

The Mgc m4809 measures 33 × 48.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mgc m4809?

39 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mgc m4809 design files?

From the 0x007E/mgc_m4809 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mgc m4809 design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Mgc m4809 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
