Open-source reference controller for a two-wire brushed-DC blower powered by a removable 5-series lithium-ion battery (approximately 15–21 V). The design uses a protected low-side N-MOSFET PWM stage, soft start, trigger filtering, voltage/current/temperature protection, an external physical fuse, and a latched fault requiring trigger release.

Status: CAD CHECKS PASS; NOT YET APPROVED TO ORDER. KiCad 10 reports zero DRC violations, zero unconnected items, zero schematic-parity issues, and zero ERC errors or warnings. The PCBWay review ZIP is generated, but motor, fuse, mechanical, transient…

5S-Blower-Controller: common questions

What microcontroller does the 5S-Blower-Controller use?

The 5S-Blower-Controller is built around the ATTINY1616-SNR, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the 5S-Blower-Controller PCB?

The 5S-Blower-Controller measures 77 × 62 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the 5S-Blower-Controller?

48 components, from 33 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the 5S-Blower-Controller design files?

From the 10htts/5S-Blower-Controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the 5S-Blower-Controller design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which 10htts chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the 5S-Blower-Controller without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
