About the Tf luna security system PCB
Tf luna security system is an open source ESP32 PCB design by adrirubio, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 102 × 41 mm, with 9 components from 7 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-Header, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 2 connectors, 2 diodes and 1 IC.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
A DIY security system using TF‑Luna to detect intruders and capture photos
An evolution of my Arduino-based security system that uses a TF-Luna LiDAR sensor to detect when someone passes through a bedroom door, triggering the ESP32-CAM to capture a photo of the intruder.
The system is built around a Freenove ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, which communicates with the TF-Luna over I2C to establish a baseline distance and detect motion. When an intruder is detected, the onboard camera captures an image and sends it to Home Assistant via Wi-Fi. A green LED indicates power status while a red LED flashes to signal an intruder alert. The entire system runs off a power bank and is…

Tf luna security system: common questions
What microcontroller does the Tf luna security system use?
The Tf luna security system is built around the ESP32-Header, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Tf luna security system PCB?
The Tf luna security system measures 102 × 41 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.600198 mm thick.
How many components are on the Tf luna security system?
9 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Tf luna security system design files?
From the adrirubio/tf-luna-security-system repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Tf luna security system design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which adrirubio chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Tf luna security system without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
