About the HardwareFinalExam PCB

HardwareFinalExam is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Alex-Hamblin, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 6 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_UNO_R2, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the KXTJ3-1057. By type, the board carries 2 switches, 2 diodes, 1 IC and 1 module.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

2. V = 2 20 = 40 P = 40 20 = 800 The resistor you will need to use is the 150 Ohm resistor.

2. V = 2 20 = 40 P = 40 20 = 800 The resistor you will need to use is the 150 Ohm resistor.

The controller i wish to create is similar to a WII remote, with multiple buttons used as digital input and an accelerometer to detect when the player performs a certain motion with the contoller. Because we are using the accelerometer, we can detect motion inputs for when the player wants to attack, each direction can be labeled as a different attack. this will add more immersion to the gameplay and also free up space on the controller as you need less button inputs.

HardwareFinalExam: common questions

What microcontroller does the HardwareFinalExam use?

The HardwareFinalExam is built around the Arduino_UNO_R2, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How many components are on the HardwareFinalExam?

6 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the HardwareFinalExam design files?

From the Alex-Hamblin/HardwareFinalExam repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the HardwareFinalExam design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Alex-Hamblin. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the HardwareFinalExam without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
