About the LoFence Hardware PCB

LoFence Hardware is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Alex9779, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 72 × 133 mm, with 56 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TPS63051RMW and TLV9062. By type, the board carries 23 resistors, 13 capacitors, 8 diodes, 3 ICs, 2 transistors and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

The LoFence V2 PCB is designed with KiCad.

The LoFence V2 PCB is designed with KiCad.

The BOM has been optimized for being produced and assembled by JLCPCB. Even the THT components except the big resistors everything should be available there. Disregarding the LA66 module which is not doable in a non-bulk production.

I use the "Fabrication Toolkit" plugin for KiCad aka JLC-Plugin-for-KiCad to one-click export production files.

LoFence Hardware: common questions

What microcontroller does the LoFence Hardware use?

The LoFence Hardware is built around the ATmega328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the LoFence Hardware PCB?

The LoFence Hardware measures 72 × 133 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the LoFence Hardware?

56 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the LoFence Hardware design files?

From the Alex9779/LoFence_Hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the LoFence Hardware design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Alex9779 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the LoFence Hardware without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
