About the SimpleKeypad PCB
SimpleKeypad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by ALLS-0227, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 41.9 × 63.3 mm, with 7 components from 3 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 4 switches, 2 diodes and 1 IC.
It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
Designing a mini keyboard as a first hardware project. This repository includes the board layout of the PCB and the schematic, as well as the STL files of the case and lid.
Designing a mini keyboard as a first hardware project, which will allow you to communicate in morse code with just 4 keys.
STL/STP/f3z files of the assembly, lid, case and imported models.
Consists of 2 separate printed pieces. The bottom part, where the PCB sits, and the top cover, which allows the keys to be placed. Made in Fusion360 by Ángel Leonardo LS

SimpleKeypad: common questions
What microcontroller does the SimpleKeypad use?
The SimpleKeypad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the SimpleKeypad PCB?
The SimpleKeypad measures 41.9 × 63.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the SimpleKeypad?
7 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the SimpleKeypad design files?
From the ALLS-0227/SimpleKeypad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the SimpleKeypad design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ALLS-0227. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the SimpleKeypad without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
