About the OpenPnPVis PCB

OpenPnPVis is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by angusgbishop, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 44.5 × 28 mm, with 63 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny1606-M, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3, AR0144, FT602Q, TPD2EUSB30 and AP2127K-2.8. By type, the board carries 26 capacitors, 18 resistors, 9 ICs, 5 connectors, 2 diodes and 1 transistor.

From the project

An Open Source Vision Camera designed for pick-and-place machines.

PnPCAM is an Open Hardware project dedicated to bringing high-quality machine vision to the various open source pick-and-place projects.

This project is very much in development, clone at your own risk!

The current versions of the board are based off the OnSemi AR0144 image sensor, as it is avaliable through mainline distributers at a reasonable cost for low quantities.

OpenPnPVis: common questions

What microcontroller does the OpenPnPVis use?

The OpenPnPVis is built around the ATtiny1606-M, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the OpenPnPVis PCB?

The OpenPnPVis measures 44.5 × 28 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OpenPnPVis?

63 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OpenPnPVis design files?

From the angusgbishop/PnPCAM repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OpenPnPVis design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which angusgbishop chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the OpenPnPVis without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
