About the Relay PCB

Relay is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by anno73, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65.5 × 22 mm, with 19 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATTINY85-20SU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the ATTINY85-20PU. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 4 connectors, 2 ICs, 2 transistors, 2 diodes and 1 LED.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

Ever wanted to have a customizable IoT enabled socket strip? Now you can... This project enhances an Ehmann Universal Socket Strip like the 8-fold strip 0200x00082301 with custom relay controller and dedicated switching PCBs for each of the sockets. The controller PCB is ESP8266 based, ideal for integration into your home IoT installation via e.g. MQTT.

Relay: common questions

What microcontroller does the Relay use?

The Relay is built around the ATTINY85-20SU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Relay PCB?

The Relay measures 65.5 × 22 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Relay?

19 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Relay design files?

From the anno73/IoT-Universal-Socket-Strip repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Relay design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with anno73. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Relay without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
