About the SenseCam rev1 PCB

SenseCam rev1 is an open source STM32 PCB design by Appiko, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-1.2 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 45 × 70 mm, with 62 components from 41 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32H750VB, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the TLV8802, MDBT42Q, TPS62840, TPS22917 and TXB0304RUT. By type, the board carries 28 capacitors, 8 ICs, 7 connectors, 7 resistors, 4 inductors and 3 transistors.

From the project

This repository contains all the KiCad based PCB design and related documentation for all the PCBs developed at Appiko.

This repo contains the Kicad PCB design of the first revision of SenseCam base board containing the STM32H750. This board is designed to interface an image sensor, interface two SD cards with both the SDMMC and multiple low power buck regulators to power the microcontroller.

SenseCam rev1: common questions

What microcontroller does the SenseCam rev1 use?

The SenseCam rev1 is built around the STM32H750VB, from the STM32 family.

How big is the SenseCam rev1 PCB?

The SenseCam rev1 measures 45 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the SenseCam rev1?

62 components, from 41 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SenseCam rev1 design files?

From the Appiko/sense_snap_hw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SenseCam rev1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-1.2 license, which Appiko chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the SenseCam rev1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
