About the AKOR 01 PCB

AKOR 01 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by arthurkowskii, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 114.5 × 162.3 mm, with 60 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 H, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the MCP23017-E/SP. By type, the board carries 21 switches, 21 diodes, 5 resistors, 2 connectors, 2 capacitors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the audio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

having fun building a synth ! C++ programming, PCB design with KiCad, and hands-on hardware work in what some people call “the real world.”

AKOR_01 is a compact hardware controller for playing notes, chords, and simple sequences.

These renders show the current NO_LED PCB revision: the RGB subsystem is absent, the matrix and encoder controls are routed, and the diode matrix is on the solder side.

The confirmed V0 interface contains a 4 × 5 performance grid plus Shift (21 MX switches total), seven push encoders, and an OLED display.

AKOR 01: common questions

What microcontroller does the AKOR 01 use?

The AKOR 01 is built around the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 H, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the AKOR 01 PCB?

The AKOR 01 measures 114.5 × 162.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the AKOR 01?

60 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the AKOR 01 design files?

From the arthurkowskii/AKOR_01 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the AKOR 01 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with arthurkowskii. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the AKOR 01 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
