About the ASME-task2 PCB

ASME-task2 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Ayush-Malik-07, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 36 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TB6612FNG. By type, the board carries 8 capacitors, 5 connectors, 5 resistors, 3 test points, 2 ICs and 2 modules.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

Opened the project and checked the schematic for all parts and reference designators so they make sense before moving to PCB.

Noted the initial error from PCB update: a lot of components had “no footprint assigned,” so PCB couldn’t add them.

Opened the Assign Footprints tool from the schematic.

For big ICs already had exact packages selected: TPS61022 (VQFN-7 2x2mm P0.5mm), TPS5403 (SOIC‑8 3.9x4.9mm P1.27mm), SSOP‑24, TQFP‑32, and DO‑41 diode.

ASME-task2: common questions

What microcontroller does the ASME-task2 use?

The ASME-task2 is built around the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How many components are on the ASME-task2?

36 components, from 19 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ASME-task2 design files?

From the Ayush-Malik-07/ASME-task2 repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ASME-task2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Ayush-Malik-07. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ASME-task2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
