About the Stepper impulse PCB
Stepper impulse is an open source PCB design by bastien-sagetat, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 55 × 55 mm, with 8 components from 5 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the TMC2208 and NUCLEO-G431KB. By type, the board carries 3 ICs, 3 connectors and 2 capacitors.
It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.
From the project
Stepper motor controller
stepper-impulse is a controller for up to two stepper motors, allowing speed and position control through commands received via its serial port.
- firmware/: Contains the STM32 project files for the software implementation: source code, cmake files, STM32CubeMx project files. - hardware/: Contains the Kicad project files for the PCB design: Schematic, PCB layout, gerbers, symbols, footprints. - doc/: Contains extra documentation and resources (e.g.: images). - tools/: Contains tool scripts (mostly Python scripts).

Stepper impulse: common questions
How big is the Stepper impulse PCB?
The Stepper impulse measures 55 × 55 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Stepper impulse?
8 components, from 5 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Stepper impulse design files?
From the bastien-sagetat/stepper-impulse repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Stepper impulse design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with bastien-sagetat. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
