About the 1541 Parallel Interface PCB

1541 Parallel Interface is an open source PCB design by Beaupre-Circuit-Design, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 72 × 25 mm, with 5 components from 5 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 1 connector, 1 switch, 1 diode and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

An OpenCBM compatible interface for the 1541 disk drive that can be used to backup and restore floppies.

A SpeedDos compatible interface for the 1541 disk drive to enable parallel communication.

Component selection isn't terribly critical, whathever you have in hand that fit the values will probably work just fine. Values for the led resistors will drive them at around 18ma which may be quite bright, increase the values if it's the case.

As alway, when assembling, start with the smallest components and grow in size as you go.

1541 Parallel Interface bill of materials (BOM)

5 components, 5 distinct parts — part numbers from the project's BOM.
