About the Atmega328p standalone board

Atmega328p standalone board is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by BenRoe, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 47 × 88 mm, with 29 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 7 connectors, 5 capacitors, 3 diodes, 2 switches and 1 IC.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

Development board for the Atmega328P with USB-C connector and only through hole components.

Development board for the Atmega328P with USB-C connector and only through hole components. It's very handy to flash the bootloader on many Atmega328P IC's.

- ISP 6/10 header for bootloader flashing (recommend USBaspLoader) - USB-C connector (if USBaspLoader bootloader is on the Atmega328P, you can flash the firmware via USB) - ISP activity led (MISO Pin) - Boot/Reset switch - ZIF socket for easy MCU swap

Atmega328p standalone board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Atmega328p standalone board use?

The Atmega328p standalone board is built around the ATmega328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Atmega328p standalone board?

The Atmega328p standalone board measures 47 × 88 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Atmega328p standalone board?

29 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Atmega328p standalone board design files?

From the BenRoe/atmega328p-standalone-board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Atmega328p standalone board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with BenRoe. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Atmega328p standalone board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
