About the D20 PCB
D20 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by bitshiftcrazy, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 45.1 × 57.8 mm, with 37 components from 13 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATTINY84-20P, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 20 diodes, 8 resistors, 3 capacitors, 2 connectors, 2 switches and 1 IC.
From the project
An open hardware electronic D20 PCB with capacitive touch, animated rolls, attunement, and a slightly suspicious personality.
This directory contains the KiCad design files, artwork, and manufacturing outputs for the d20 PCB.
The board is a small ATtiny-based electronic die with 20 LEDs arranged around the edge of a d20-shaped PCB. A capacitive touch pad triggers a roll animation and displays a random result.
- ATtiny84 microcontroller - 20 LEDs arranged in a ring (charlieplexed) - Capacitive touch pad for input - Coin cell battery holder - Push button (optional backup input)

D20: common questions
What microcontroller does the D20 use?
The D20 is built around the ATTINY84-20P, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the D20 PCB?
The D20 measures 45.1 × 57.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the D20?
37 components, from 13 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the D20 design files?
From the bitshiftcrazy/d20_pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the D20 design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with bitshiftcrazy. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the D20 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
