About the Ac pwm led dimmer PCB

Ac pwm led dimmer is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by Bonusbartus, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.5 × 74 mm, with 27 components from 26 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the 4N35 (M by ON Semi ). By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 4 diodes, 4 capacitors, 3 connectors, 2 ICs and 2 transistors.

From the project

A PCB for dimming AC LED lamps

Not sure yet about (the placement of) the MAINS and LAMP connector. Check if the optocoupler is fast enough. the ESP8266 has a PWM driver which can operate at 100-1000Hz.

Ac pwm led dimmer: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ac pwm led dimmer use?

The Ac pwm led dimmer is built around the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Ac pwm led dimmer PCB?

The Ac pwm led dimmer measures 99.5 × 74 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ac pwm led dimmer?

27 components, from 26 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ac pwm led dimmer design files?

From the Bonusbartus/ac_pwm_led_dimmer repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ac pwm led dimmer design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Bonusbartus. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Ac pwm led dimmer without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
