About the Iaq board

Iaq board is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by nkitanov, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70.1 × 43.2 mm, with 17 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the PMS7003, SSD1306, BME280, MH-Z19 and SGP30. By type, the board carries 7 ICs, 4 capacitors, 3 diodes, 2 switches and 1 connector.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

IAQ Board is a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) device for measuring internal air quality

This folder contains KiCad project in iaq_device folder - schematic, datasheets and gerber files.

In order to print the PCB you have to zip all files from plot folder, these are the gerber files. Then upload the zip like explained here for JLCPCB.

In the folder my_libs are the custom footprint and symbol libraries, 3D models for kicad 3D viewer.

Iaq board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Iaq board use?

The Iaq board is built around the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Iaq board?

The Iaq board measures 70.1 × 43.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Iaq board?

17 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Iaq board design files?

From the nkitanov/iaq_board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Iaq board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with nkitanov. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Iaq board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
