This HTML page will: - Check each line as you type it in - Colourise/capitalise keywords - Highlights missing GOTO/GOSUB targets - Save/load BAS file for resuming where you left off

Of course you would need to de-solder the original ROM and install this, but you wouldn't need to worry about cutting the PCB and wiring up pin 1, and you can just reinstall the original ROM.

VGA4CPC Brett RevA: common questions

What microcontroller does the VGA4CPC Brett RevA use?

The VGA4CPC Brett RevA is built around the RASPBERRY PI PICO, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the VGA4CPC Brett RevA PCB?

The VGA4CPC Brett RevA measures 78.7 × 106 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the VGA4CPC Brett RevA?

37 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the VGA4CPC Brett RevA design files?

From the BrettHallen/Amstrad-CPC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the VGA4CPC Brett RevA design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with BrettHallen. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the VGA4CPC Brett RevA without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
