About the Patchworks PCB
Patchworks is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Broosky, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 63 components from 37 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Arduino UNO R3, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the LM317 Regulator (VADJ 7-12VDC), Power Monitor, LCD Display and BB Power. By type, the board carries 17 resistors, 15 connectors, 6 capacitors, 5 ICs, 5 transistors and 4 diodes.
It belongs with the sensors and displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
A multi-rail prototyping board with microcontroller management.
This project consists of a set of custom electronics prototyping boards designed for testing and monitoring personal electronics projects. Each board features:
- An MCU controlled LCD display. - Voltage, current, power (V/A/W), and ambient temperature gauges. - Regulated 3.3V, 5V, and VADJ rails (7-12 VDC) for the dual 830 tie-point breadboards. - A main ATmega328P Arduino Uno R3 for system monitoring (e.g., temperature and fan control for the main regulator, and power safety with the main relay).

Patchworks: common questions
What microcontroller does the Patchworks use?
The Patchworks is built around the Arduino UNO R3, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How many components are on the Patchworks?
63 components, from 37 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Patchworks design files?
From the Broosky/Patchworks repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Patchworks design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Broosky. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Patchworks without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
