Electronics, hardware schematics

This project is a template for a Raspberry Pi Hat that was build on the guide lines published on github by the Raspberry Pi foundation. This template is designed to make it easier for hardware developers to design there own Rasberry Pi hats. The template was designed as a comprimse of cost, solderabilty, and footprint. The board has about 80% of its space still avalible to the user. The board also provides typical voltages that are required in many projects. The board is also capable of powering the Raspberry Pi. This makes this template sutable for development in automotive, industrial and…

Motherboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Motherboard use?

The Motherboard is built around the Raspberry_Pi_+_Conn, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Motherboard PCB?

The Motherboard measures 85 × 56.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Motherboard?

29 components, from 16 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Motherboard design files?

From the BryggansBryggeri/electrical repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Motherboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with BryggansBryggeri. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Motherboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
