About the GNBoard (Shield for Arduino Mega)
GNBoard (Shield for Arduino Mega) is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by CarlosGS, published on GitHub. It is a board measuring 80.8 × 55.4 mm, with 56 components from 43 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ARDUINO_MEGA_SHIELD, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 18 resistors, 13 relays, 11 connectors, 5 capacitors, 3 switches and 1 transistor.
It belongs with the robotics & motion, sensors and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
A 3D-printable robotic platform for testing swarm algorithms
An efficient solution for powering mobile robots. The GNBoard can also incorporate a ZigBee-compatible module and many other multimodal sensors (a gas detector for odor sensing, an accelerometer/electronic compass, temperature and humidity sensors, luminosity sensors), and multiple kinds of actuators as well (servomotors, a speaker, LEDs, etc).
The motion of the robot is achieved using two continuous rotation servomotors (SM-S4303R) as the main actuators. Servomotors provide a compact and low-cost solution to achieve the digital speed control needed. The main downside of this kind of…
