About the Pathfinderrr PCB

Pathfinderrr is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by chendongaoo, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 106.5 × 39.1 mm, with 13 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 4 switches, 4 diodes, 4 resistors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

This is my first time making a pathfinder (whatever that's suppose to be (:)

This is another one of my little projects I will be doing, as I will be making a little led light up once a corresponding keyswitch will be pressed.

Pathfinderrr: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pathfinderrr use?

The Pathfinderrr is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Pathfinderrr PCB?

The Pathfinderrr measures 106.5 × 39.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pathfinderrr?

13 components, from 4 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pathfinderrr design files?

From the chendongaoo/Pathfinderrr repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pathfinderrr design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which chendongaoo chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Pathfinderrr without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
