This folder contains the KiCad (https://launchpad.net/kicad) project files, schematic symbols, and related footprints as well as generated schematics and gerber files.

I generally run the latest KiCad built from sources, so I may be using features that don't exist in the pre-built versions.

RL02Interface: common questions

What microcontroller does the RL02Interface use?

The RL02Interface is built around the XC3S50A-4VQ100, from the FPGA family.

How big is the RL02Interface PCB?

The RL02Interface measures 62.2 × 86.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the RL02Interface?

96 components, from 24 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RL02Interface design files?

From the ChrisPVille/RL02 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RL02Interface design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which ChrisPVille chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the RL02Interface without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug FPGA firmware against it before you order a PCB.
