This folder contains the KiCad (https://launchpad.net/kicad) project files, schematic symbols, and related footprints as well as generated schematics and gerber files.

I generally run the latest KiCad built from sources, so I may be using features that don't exist in the pre-built versions.

RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE: common questions

What microcontroller does the RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE use?

The RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE is built around the XC3S50A-4VQ100, from the FPGA family.

How big is the RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE PCB?

The RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE measures 71.1 × 114.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE?

147 components, from 28 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE design files?

From the ChrisPVille/RL02 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which ChrisPVille chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the RL02InterfacePROTOTYPE without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug FPGA firmware against it before you order a PCB.
