About the AIL TSAL PCB

AIL TSAL is an open source PCB design by columbia-fsae, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 107.6 × 29.5 mm, with 29 components from 24 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LR8K4-G, CRE1S0505DC, LM741 and LM555. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 6 capacitors, 4 ICs, 4 connectors, 3 diodes and 2 transistors.

From the project

This repository contains all the PCBs embedded inside the accumulator container of Columbia University's 2021 Formula SAE electric racecar. They were designed in KiCAD by Sabin Zarrandikoetxea and Bert Steyaert.

If all the CAD components can't be found in the 3D view is because some parts are referenced to a local folder in another system. They can be downladed from the "KiCAD Libraries" repository found in Sabin's CADLAB.io account. There is a link to such account in the team's GitHub, inside the "2021 Accumulator Electronics" repository.

**A component was created out of this PCB. It can be found in this very folder under "AIL&TSAL Library"

AIL TSAL: common questions

How big is the AIL TSAL PCB?

The AIL TSAL measures 107.6 × 29.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the AIL TSAL?

29 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the AIL TSAL design files?

From the columbia-fsae/2021_Accumulator_Electronics repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the AIL TSAL design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with columbia-fsae. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
