About the RGB Par PCB

RGB Par is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by cookiemonsternz, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 28 × 28 mm, with 9 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny85-20P, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 2 connectors, 1 IC, 1 switch and 1 diode.

Stagekit is a 3D-printable, completely hand-solderable diy lighting previs kit.

Stagekit is a 3D-printable, completely hand-solderable diy lighting previs kit.

It consists of various fixtures, truss elements, and set dressing pieces, all modelled at a fairly accurate 1:10 scale. The truss pieces are modelled after standard Eurotruss, and the lights after various fixtures, but due to design requirements, sizing and design liberties have had to be taken.

RGB Par: common questions

What microcontroller does the RGB Par use?

The RGB Par is built around the ATtiny85-20P, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the RGB Par PCB?

The RGB Par measures 28 × 28 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the RGB Par?

9 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RGB Par design files?

From the cookiemonsternz/StageKit repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RGB Par design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cookiemonsternz. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the RGB Par without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
