About the BreakOutBoard PCB

BreakOutBoard is an open source PCB design by crempp, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 156.2 × 45.6 mm, with 12 components from 5 distinct parts.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

16bit CPU made from TTL Logic Chips

This is a 16bit pipelined CPU designed on a breadboard and produced in modular component boards.

My objective in this project is to learn electronics, CPU design and build a fully functional CPU that can be updated, added to and further developed easily.

The CPU is designed around four general purpose 16 bit registers four 16 bit address registers ALU supporting addition, subtraction, shift and bitwise operations piplined instructions * banked memory with a base of 64k, expandable to about 1.5 megabytes (max TBD)

BreakOutBoard: common questions

How big is the BreakOutBoard PCB?

The BreakOutBoard measures 156.2 × 45.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the BreakOutBoard?

12 components, from 5 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the BreakOutBoard design files?

From the crempp/ucpu repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the BreakOutBoard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with crempp. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
