About the Kryptek PCB

Kryptek is an open source PCB design by cschethana03-hash, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 464.5 × 129.1 mm, with 246 components from 27 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MCP23017_SO and USBLC6-2SC6. By type, the board carries 116 switches, 112 diodes, 8 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 capacitors and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the keyboards, iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A cool looking keyboard

Kryptek is my custom full size (108 key) wireless mechanical keyboard, its built around an Adafruit Feather nRF52840 Express.

so basicaly i wanted a full size board that could work wireles over bluetooth but still be usable as a normal wired keyboard when i need it too, and i wanted to understand the entire thing instead of just putting together a kit.. the matrix, the diodes, the I2C gpio expanders, the battery, the screen, the leds ALL of it, so i designed the whole thing from scratch in kicad and fusion 360 which took a ridiculous amount of time lol

Kryptek: common questions

How big is the Kryptek PCB?

The Kryptek measures 464.5 × 129.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Kryptek?

246 components, from 27 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Kryptek design files?

From the cschethana03-hash/Kryptek repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Kryptek design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cschethana03-hash. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
