About the Keyboard v2 PCB
Keyboard v2 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by daaminashai, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 290.9 × 123.4 mm, with 137 components from 12 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 72 diodes, 61 switches, 3 resistors and 1 IC.
It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
a custom mechanical keyboard made from scratch
- 61x keys! - Default 60% Layout - 2x EC11 Rotary Encoder - For Volume, Brightness etc - 9x LEDs with acrylic for aesthetics (multicolor) - COOOL Silkscreen - 5° inclined case - Comfy Design - KMK firmware
I made this keyboard since I wanted a compact alternative to my bigger keyboard, this keyboard is pretty small in size and has most of the necessary keys. I also wanted to make this one look aesthetically pleasing instead of my old keyboard which did not look really good 😭.

Keyboard v2: common questions
What microcontroller does the Keyboard v2 use?
The Keyboard v2 is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Keyboard v2 PCB?
The Keyboard v2 measures 290.9 × 123.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Keyboard v2?
137 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Keyboard v2 design files?
From the daaminashai/keyboard-v2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Keyboard v2 design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which daaminashai chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Keyboard v2 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
