About the MultiPad PCB

MultiPad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Darbyshire64, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70.5 × 94 mm, with 20 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 9 switches, 9 diodes, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

An Multifunctional inspired macro pad. That im submiting for @Hackclub highway. The macro pad has a minimalist but functional design, With Multi layerd functionality.

- 9 Keys aranged in 3x3 Patern - Cherry MX Linear Switches - Multi Profile (3 Profiles) - OLED Displaying information and profile in use.

The Blue Function key is designed to allow changing of settings of the macro pad.

Hold down F(BLUE) key for 3 Seconds to enter customization mode. use 5 and 8 to scroll. Key 2 to modify option. Hold F Key again to exit and apply.

MultiPad: common questions

What microcontroller does the MultiPad use?

The MultiPad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the MultiPad PCB?

The MultiPad measures 70.5 × 94 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MultiPad?

20 components, from 4 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MultiPad design files?

From the Darbyshire64/MultiPad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MultiPad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Darbyshire64. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MultiPad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
