About the Main board

Main board is an open source ESP32 PCB design by davorvr, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 43.2 × 59.1 mm, with 10 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S2-Saola-1, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 7 connectors, 2 resistors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

Everything needed to build a working MIROSLAV device.

This repo holds everything needed to build a working MIROSLAV device. Arduino firmware and Record-a-SLAV, a Python data acquisition script, can be found in the MIROSLAV-firmware repository. A complete, user-friendly MIROSLAV software toolkit for analysis of MIROSLAV data, from raw data to statistical analysis, can be found in the MIROSLAV-analysis repository - also contains an example dataset of real data recorded in our lab.

Main board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Main board use?

The Main board is built around the ESP32-S2-Saola-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Main board?

The Main board measures 43.2 × 59.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Main board?

10 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Main board design files?

From the davorvr/MIROSLAV-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Main board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which davorvr chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Main board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
