About the DisPhaze Components PCB

DisPhaze Components is an open source STM32 PCB design by dchwebb, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 60 × 110 mm, with 89 components from 49 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F405RGTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the TL072, MCP6004, LM1117-3.3 and LM4040DBZ-5. By type, the board carries 28 resistors, 24 capacitors, 9 connectors, 5 ICs, 5 test points and 4 switches.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Eurorack Phase Distortion Oscillator module

Eurorack module providing two Phase Distortion oscillators based on Casio's CZ synthesizors.

Phase distortion involves warping a sine wave using a second phase distortion signal. The phase distortion tables in this module were loosely based on waveforms sampled from a Casio CZ-1000. Both oscillators allow the sine wave to be warped by a greater amount than on the original and in the case of oscillator 1 the phase distortion tables can be continuously varied.

DisPhaze Components: common questions

What microcontroller does the DisPhaze Components use?

The DisPhaze Components is built around the STM32F405RGTx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the DisPhaze Components PCB?

The DisPhaze Components measures 60 × 110 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DisPhaze Components?

89 components, from 49 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DisPhaze Components design files?

From the dchwebb/DisPhaze repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DisPhaze Components design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which dchwebb chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the DisPhaze Components without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
