From the project

Eurorack 4 voice effects processor based on STM32H563

Quadmod is a Eurorack modular four channel effect module. A modulation section allows either phasing or flanging followed by a delay. As part of the Mountjoy Modular polyphonic range the module uses a series of intermodulation paths to convert a four channel input to a stereo output.

Quadmod uses an STM32563 microcontroller which controls a four channel Audio Codec (AsahiKasei AK4619) using SPI for configuration and SAI (Serial Ausio Interface) peripheral to manage the 4 in and 4 out I2S audio streams. The microcontroller reads the front panel controls with internal 12 bit ADCs.

QuadMod Components: common questions

What microcontroller does the QuadMod Components use?

The QuadMod Components is built around the STM32H563VIT, from the STM32 family.

How big is the QuadMod Components PCB?

The QuadMod Components measures 70.6 × 100 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.59 mm thick.

How many components are on the QuadMod Components?

121 components, from 55 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the QuadMod Components design files?

From the dchwebb/QuadMod repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the QuadMod Components design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with dchwebb. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the QuadMod Components without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
