About the Pcb

Pcb is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by dj505, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 120.7 × 70.6 mm, with 33 components from 5 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 10 resistors, 6 LEDs, 6 capacitors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

\ There are a few options for RGB underglow depending on your needs and experience. - Option 1: There are foorprints for 6 individual WS2812B LEDs (PLCC4, 5x5mm) around the perimiter of the case. There are hand-solder friendly 0805 capacitor footprints beside each LED, but these are only needed if you run into issues with the LEDs being unstable or acting erratically. This option will likely look nicer, but may be more difficult for beginners to solder. - Option 2: A regular WS2812B strip cut down to 6 LEDs in length can be soldered to the three pins on the left hand side of the board (from…

Pcb: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pcb use?

The Pcb is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Pcb?

The Pcb measures 120.7 × 70.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pcb?

33 components, from 5 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pcb design files?

From the dj505/PicoFX repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pcb design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which dj505 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Pcb without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
